Literacy for Social Justice (LSJ) invites educators & interested citizens to meet monthly (2nd Saturdays of the month) to explore relationships between
social justice, education & literacy.
Saturday, July 14 - "Talking about Gay Issues in School", Kimberly House & Genevieve Erker
Saturday, August 11- "Critical Literacy Media & Social Justice", Alex Heil-Chapdelaine
LSJ members will share examples of current social justice work from their classrooms & political experiences involving education. There will also be opportunities for participants to share about how they are teaching or acting for social justice.
We will hold "Organizational/Action Meetings" afterward from 11:30-12:30 to plan for our upcoming Curriculum Fair
and other managerial matters. All are encouraged to stay for it!
